KAJAANI UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES

Outline:

Kajaanin UAS is located in the province of Oulu, in the region of Kainuu. 

The University, established in 1992, has about 2,000 students and 230 academic staff.  It offers a total of eight Bachelor level degree programmes in Finnish and two in English, as well as five Master level degree programmes in Finnish.

The University offers the following fields of study:

• Social Sciences, Business and Administration

• Social Services, Health and Sports

• Tourism, Catering and Domestic Services

• Natural Sciences

• Technology, Communications and Transport

In 2011, Kajaani was ranked the best UAS in Finland based on several indicators. The University has been among the top five UAS to offer high quality student guidance and counselling.

In particular, SBM intends to work with their Schools of Business & Administration, Tourism as well as Health and Sports.   This partnership, in particular, will open up another option for students from the Diploma in Sport & Wellness Management to study a semester in Europe in the specific area of sports management[1]. 

At Kajaani UAS, internationality is emphasised in all fields of study. The amount of English taught courses is increasing and Kajaani UAS has some 100 overseas partner institutions in 40 countries.
