Outline:

Located at Aberdeen and Garthdee, Scottland

Robert Gordon is a public university in the city of Aberdeen, Scotland. It was founded in 1750 as a technical college. The original college evolved into a thriving institution with two sites, one in Aberdeen city centre and one on the southern approach to the city, at Garthdee. This development has seen the incorporation of Gray's School of Art (1885), the School of Pharmacy (1898) and the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture (1957).

RGU became a full University in 1992. It was previously known as Robert Gordon Institute of Technology and is now considered as Scotland’s “New Universities”. The University has 10,000 undergraduates and 6,000 postgraduates. It is home to 1,500 international students from 65 countries.

The University has three faculties, the Aberdeen Business School, Faculty of Design and Technology and Faculty of Health and Social Care. In addition, the Aberdeen Business School’s academic departments are highly ranked in all subject areas and the study of Librarianship and Information Management rated Top in UK in the Complete University Guide 2013.
