San Diego State University (SDSU) is a public university in San Diego, California. It is one of the 23 campuses of the California State University System and has its own branch campus in the Imperial Valley. University is a member of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges, and the Southwest Border Security Consortium. 

Founded in 1897 as San Diego Normal School, it is the third-oldest university in the 23-member California State University (CSU), SDSU has a student body of more than 34,000 and an alumni base of more than 260,000. The university awards 189 types of bachelor's degrees, 91 different master's degrees and 25 types of doctoral degrees.

The university is composed of seven distinct colleges: the College of Arts and Letters, the College of Business Administration, the College of Engineering, the College of Education, the College of Health and Human Services, the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts, and the College of Sciences. 

The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University is one of the nation’s oldest and largest AACSB accredited business schools. Rankings According to U.S. News & World Report: USNWR ranks SDSU's Business School 86th in the nation.
